SMS enjoyed a major highlight this week: Global Play Day! With a mission of restoring unstructured play to a generation of kids, the Owl Class joined over 535,000 students world wide to enjoy a day FILLED with FUN!!
Half way through our morning, we opened our doors to our neighboring second grade classrooms and expanded the fun.
The afternoon was all about outdoor play. From building to climbing, tracking to exploring, these Owls sure know how to have fun no matter where the location!
After returning inside, our 5th grade buddies came down to join us for our final hour of play. We played games, invited them into our forts, and learned some new card tricks!
What a day!! Filled with independent problem-solving, collaboration, cooperation, sharing, being flexibile, using a creative mind, and thinking outside the box, I have no doubt they returned to you awfully tired Wednesday afternoon :)
