Welcome to 2H: The Owl Class!

Welcome, Second Graders!!

I hope you all have been having a fantastic summer! While I am sad to see it come to an end, I am extremely excited to start our year together. Second grade is such a fun year full of exciting learning experiences!

I hope you received your summer letter in the mail and are getting excited as well! As mentioned, in order to help introduce yourself to the class and to begin building our community of readers, I'd like each of you to bring 3-5 books with you on the first day of school (don't worry---you'll take them safely back home!). Think carefully about which stories are important to your reading life. You might select a book that reminds you of a special person or place. Maybe you'll select a book that you've read again and again and again. I know I've been working hard selecting my books as well. I'll Love You Forever by Robert Munsch is definitely one of my picks! I can still hear my mom's voice reading me that great story! If you don't have a copy of a book you're thinking of, just let me know and I'll see if we have it in our classroom library.

Also, just as a reminder, I will be working in our classroom on Thursday, August 25th from 2:30-3:30 if you'd like to come say, "Hello!" I'd love to see you!!

Enjoy these last days of summer! I'll see you soon!!

Warmly,
Mrs. Healey
